Crazyquiffs Mk1 Golf Emporium

Car of the month - September 2008

Car of the month - September 2008

Previously owned by Rajan (chairman of the club), the car was purchased from a 'Cars for Sale' advert on this site and owner Danny snapped it up, because he was looking for the perfect summer cruiser, a 5 door auto.

As soon as Danny arrived home he stripped it down to the bare shell and changed the colour from its original Indiana Red to Russic Brown (a BL colour). He sourced all the New Old Stock (NOS) bits from German eBay, UK eBay and Crazyquiff.

The engine was fine, so just needed a clean up and a lick of paint as it had only done 30,000 miles, barely run in. The car sits on a set of BBS RS 047 split rims with stretched Bridgestone boots. The suspension is KW variant 1 coilovers.

The trick features are how Danny sets his stall out for a show, accessorised to the max with the likes of a swamp cooler air conditioning, Helphos windscreen spotlight, Brextons picnic trays seat and door trays, Coca cola cool ice cooler, period well travelled suitcase, NOS front and rear fogs. The 'Please pass' rear window light seems to attract quite a lot of attention.

Future plans playing around with a 57 oval beetle next season.
